Happy Holidays, Happy Christmas!

Hi Oscarites!  Long time no see!  

Hubby and I are back from the honeymoon!  We took a cruise on the Mexican Riviera and had a great time, but I was a little seasick the whole time, so that was pretty lame.  Now that we're back home we are going to be without internet for a while at our apartment, so I've decided to spend most of the holidays just enjoying being a newlywed and adjusting to it instead of stressing about keeping up with my blog schedule.  

Once I get internet, I will rearrange my schedule and let you all know what is up.  I may post a few reviews before Christmas, but for the most part things will be pretty tame.  I will definitely be gearing up to try to finish the 84th Academy Awards by the end of February so don't worry!  You can count on me to get back to it!

That being said, I have been very pleased and grateful that you all have continued to read and view my blog and Facebook page during my time off!  Thank you so much for everything and I will be back soon!

Enjoy the Holidays and I hope you all get a chance to spend some quality time with your family and friends!  Christmas is my favourite time of year so setting up a new home during this time is both a blessing and a curse!

Pre-Holidays Break

Sad news for you, Oscarites.  I had very elaborately and wonderfully planned my schedule so that while I was gone or busy over the next few weeks you would be none the wiser, but alas!  I fell far behind, and even though I am a few movies ahead at the moment, I am getting married next Saturday, the 24th and it is crunch time.  I really cannot find time for much of anything besides work and wedding, which isn't all together a bad thing.  I will be posting two posts over the next few weeks, and after I return from my honeymoon we will see how long it takes me to get back on schedule.  

Challenge accepted?  I think so.

October Announcement

Hello Oscarites!  I've decided to do something fun for the month of October!  If you are a fan of Haloween and aren't following me on Twitter, you will be missing out!  I am going to be posting a movie a day that you should definitely watch this month!  Half of them will be horror/for a more mature audience and the other half will be comedy/family friendly (AKA something I would enjoy).

Jumping in With Two Feet

Earlier this year, I decided I needed a new project--one that I could fall in love with.  After watching the Academy Awards in February, I realized the answer had been staring me in the face for some time.  I was a media communications major in college, focusing on film, and have spent innumerable hours of my life watching movies, both in and out of the classroom.  After discovering how few of the academy nominated films I had seen this year, I decided that I should watch all of them... but my curiosity did not stop there.  I could blog about the movies from the 84th annual awards, and then next year the 85th... but what about all of the films from years one through eighty-three?  How could I understand the history of cinematic brilliance if I didn't start at the very beginning of the awards?  It isn't enough for me to watch the winners--every single film that is nominated deserves equal attention.  

So here we go.  Jumping in with two feet.  I have been preparing, brainstorming, and trying to smooth out the kinks, but I have decided that at some point there needs to be action.  So join me, won't you?  

To start out, I will be watching all the films from the 1st (1929), 50th (1978), and 84th (2012) Academy Awards and will be posting reviews on Fridays, Sundays, and Wednesdays.  Make sure to check out my twitter (@OscarsDaily) and Like my Facebook page (Facebook.com/oscarsdaily) to stay up to date and interact, and please subscribe to my blog so that you won't miss any posts!
